Jason's RPMs for RHEL/CentOS 4

I created this page because I had a need for running Apache's httpd 2.2 on RHEL4.  As I could not find any RPMs for this piece of software, and as I needed to install on a dozen servers, I decided to do what I could to get the RPMs from FC5 to work, rather than compile from source on every system.

I quickly found out that all of the RPMs from FC5 required glibc 2.4 (and not 2.3 which comes with RHEL4) and that httpd 2.2 itself required some library versions greater than those that come with RHEL4.  As such, I was stuck rebuilding the httpd RPMs, as well as those for the upgraded deps, from the FC5 SRC RPMs.

Now, to what you are all here for, install the RPMs below.  None of these were modified to remove branding so you may end up with files claiming to be from FC5, but that should affect functionality.

All of these files are built for i386.  The 'devel' versions are not required for most installs but you may need them if you have other software that builds on these same libraries.

Prerequisites:

• apr-1.2.2-7.3 (devel)
• apr-util-1.2.7-1.1 (devel)
• pcre-6.3-1.2.1 (devel)

httpd:

• httpd-2.2.2-1.2 (devel)
• httpd-manual-2.2.2-1.2
• mod_ssl-2.2.2-1.2

Also, since the PHP RPMs that ship with RHEL4 will not work with any version of httpd other than the stock version, here's a set of RPMs built for httpd-mmn 20051115.  The package 'php-mysql' was built against the copy of mysql 5.0.22-1 from the centosplus repo.  Unlike the packages above, these were not designed to be compiled with a version of 'gcc' lower than 4.  As such, the spec file had to be modified slightly.
